As part of the Green Spring 2024 environmental campaign, volunteers from among the employees of Rosneft’s enterprises cleaned more than 200 hectares of natural parks, public gardens, embankments and city streets, collected more than 200 tons of waste and planted more than 800,000 trees, shrubs and flowers.

Preservation of the environment for future generations is an integral part of the social policy and corporate culture of Rosneft. The Company is implementing a number of programs to minimize environmental impact and improve the environmental performance of its production. Every year, Rosneft’s subsidiaries take part in activities aimed at preserving and restoring natural resources.

In support of the Green Spring 2024 environmental campaign, volunteers from Rosneft’s enterprises organized large-scale clean-up days in Moscow, Ryazan, Samara, Novokuybyshevsk, Syzran, Saratov, Ufa, Izhevsk, Angarsk, Nizhnevartovsk, Tomsk, Achinsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur and other cities.

Oilmen from the Republic of Bashkortostan planted 42,000 conifer seedlings over an area of more than 13.5 hectares in the Kushnarenkovsky and Davlekanovsky Districts of the Republic. Bashneft-Dobycha employees planted 24,000 trees in the Asly-Kul Nature Park, which will prevent springs from drying up and provide Lake Aslikul with a natural water supply. A new forest of 6,000 pine seedlings has sprung up in the Chishma District of the Republic of Bashkortostan, thanks to the efforts of volunteers.

Volunteers from Udmurtneft cleaned up Neftyanikov Garden Square, pedestrian zones on central streets of Izhevsk, production areas in Igrinsky, Votkinsky, Sarapulsky and other Districts of Udmurtia. During the campaign, oil workers collected more than 300 m3 of waste from a total area of more than 30 hectares.

Samotlorneftegaz volunteers held an environmental action in the centre of Nizhnevartovsk in the square of Heroes of Samotlor, built with the Company’s support. Approximately 16 m3 of natural and household waste was collected and disposed of during the campaign.

Nearly three thousand employees of Kuybyshevsky Oil Refinery took part in a clean-up day, collecting around three tons of rubbish from the streets of Samara and planting young trees in the city’s parks. The enterprise’s specialists organized a traditional spring eco-festival ‘YelkaFest’ in the city’s schools. They held ecological lessons aimed at promoting a careful attitude to nature among children, workshops on planting flowers and trees and taking care of them.

Employees of Novokuybyshevsk Refinery collected about four tons of waste and cleaned the city’s streets, alleys and squares with a total area of 50,000 m2. The refinery workers and their children improved the area of the monument to home front workers in Novokuybyshevsk, which was installed with the Company’s support last year. They planted flowers and juniper bushes, which is a symbol of eternal life.

More than 800 employees of Novokuybyshevsk Petrochemical Company took part, cleaning up more than 35 hectares of land and collecting 30 tons of waste. In Novokuybyshevsk, Samara and the village of Granniy, petrochemical workers planted ten thousand flowers and more than 100 seedlings of coniferous and deciduous trees. Activists from Saratov Oil Refinery, together with the members of ‘The Movement of the First’, cleaned up Kirov Garden Square, held lessons on the theme ‘Together we care for nature’ and planted flowers in children’s institutions.

More than 350 volunteers from Syzran Oil Refinery cleaned 45 thousand m2 of city territory along Astrakhanskaya Street – from the refinery to kindergarten no. 8. The clean-up involved 16 units of special equipment and removed around 280 m3 of waste.

Volunteers from Ryazan Oil Refining Company collected more than 70 tons of wood waste and more than 100 tons of household waste from the Central Park of Culture and Recreation in Ryazan.

More than 1,000 activists from Komsomolsk Refinery collected and removed more than 30 tons of last year’s dry wood and household waste from the streets of Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

More than 500 employees of Achinsk Refinery held a clean-up day on the territory of Achinsk. Students from sponsored educational institutions and young people from ‘The Movement of the First’ joined the environmental action. Volunteers cleaned streets, squares and public spaces in the Privokzalny District, covering an area of three hectares. A total of 300 m3 of rubbish was collected and taken to a landfill.
